How long does a container conversion take?
Conversion timelines vary depending on the complexity of the fit-out. A basic modification such as adding doors, windows and shelving can be completed in 1–2 weeks. A full custom fit-out with insulation, electrical, air conditioning and internal linings typically takes 3–6 weeks from design approval. We provide realistic lead times upfront during the quoting process.
Do you supply the container, or do I need to source my own?
We can do both. Summit Trade Group can source the right container for your project new or used, in the size and specification best suited to your conversion requirements. Alternatively, if you have an existing container you want to convert, we can work with that directly.
What is the difference between a new and used container?
New or ‘one-trip’ containers have made a single shipping journey and are in near-perfect structural condition, ideal for premium livable builds or high-finish office conversions. Used containers are structurally sound but may show surface rust, dents or wear from years of service. Used containers are cost-effective for storage, workshop and site-based applications where aesthetics are less critical. We advise on the best option for your build and budget.
Can container conversions be relocated after installation?
Yes, relocation is one of the key advantages of container-based buildings. Converted containers can be craned or transported to a new location as your operational requirements change. We can assist with relocation logistics, transport and reinstallation at your new site.
